Spring 2010 CSA

Newsletter January 7, 2010

Just a quick note to say Happy New Year and let you know that our 2010 CSA program is now taking applications.

The farm is extremely wet, but we are getting geared up for the Spring crops by sowing seeds in our greenhouses. Once germinated, these seeds will develop into baby plants and then be transplanted into our fields.

A little farm news since last Spring, we have cleared another four acres of land that appears to be real nice sandy soil. This new ground will hopefully allow us more planting area. While we think the Spring 2009 CSA was successful, it was our first program and thus not without oversights and mistakes. The good news is that since last Spring, we have had two more programs, Summer & Fall, and consequently we have a little more experience. One of the big differences between last Spring's program and subsequent programs is that we are not trying to deliver everything on the on the same day. This seems to help with our punctuality as well as relive some of our delivery stress.

All the best,

Van
