Summer 2009 CSA

Per the yesterday's email, everyone seems to be fine with the program delivery days and times with one minor alteration as the majority of the Heights participants desire the pick up day and time to go back Wednesday's 4-7pm. We can accommodate this request as we already travel to Houston on Wednesday's anyhow. So below are the official days and times for share pick ups for the summer program:

• Moveable Feast (West Houston) Tuesday's 3:30 - 7:00
• Hill Design (Upper Kirby) Tuesday's 3:30-5:00
• Heights's Wednesday's 4:00 -7:00 (later pick up? shares can be left on porch in cooler)
• Woodlands Thursday's 2:30-5:30 (later pick up? shares can be left on porch in cooler)
• Vitamins and More (Kingwood) Thursday's 3:00-5:45
• Farm Friday's 10:30-2:00

Per conversations and correspondence with various share holders from the spring program, we are going to try and provide more variety, more fruit and when possible more volume of the same vegetable. This having been said, we recognize that we will have to acquire items from other local farms as the drought is taking a toll on some of our vegetable production. This having been said, expect the the following in this weeks shares: baby arugula, cayenne peppers, sweet italian peppers, homestead garden tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, a seedless watermelon and possibly some of spring mix. FYI, we have been having some issues with the heat on our lettuce mix production. To make up for future lettuce mix, we intend on next week adding microgreens to your shares along with occasionally micro cilantro. Hopefully the lettuce mix will return in about three weeks. We will begin a weekly update later this week.
